THREE TIME NATIONAL CHAMPION AND FORMER PROFESSIONAL TREVOR JEWELL NAMED 2008 HEAD COACH

Carolina Premier Hockey is proud to announce Trevor Jewell as Head Coach of the 2008 AAA team. Trevor is no stranger to the Charlotte region as he began his coaching career with the Junior Checkers 16U team in 2015-2016. Since that time Coach Jewell has spent time as an Assistant Coach with the Corpus Christi IceRays in the NAHL and with the Charlotte Rush (USPHL). As a Head Coach Trevor has spent the last three seasons as the bench boss of the Charlotte Rush Premier team.

As a player Trevor spent four seasons of college hockey with Johnson & Wales NCAA D-III team in Providence where he was a standout. Most recently being named to Johnson & Wales all decade, his on-ice success brought him to the professional level post-graduation. Beginning a coaching career with the Charlotte Checkers 16U AA team Trevor found immediate success at the National level. Coach Jewell took his local Charlotte team all the way to the National Championship ultimately losing in the final game.

Quickly climbing the coaching ladder Trevor embarked on a junior hockey coaching career. As an assistant coach with the Charlotte Rush (USPHL) Trevor captured a National Championship in 2017 alongside 10U Head Coach Ryan Cruthers. From there Coach Jewell spent time as a Head Coach with the Charlotte Rush as well as an assistant coach with the Corpus Christi IceRays (NAHL) once again working alongside Coach Cruthers, where their Captain was current 12U Head Coach Kyle Moore. This past season he served as an Assistant Coach with the Charlotte Rush Elite team and Head Coach of the Premier team.  Working alongside CPH Directors Troy Schwab, Ryan Cruthers and video coordinator Ray Sylvester the Rush captured two National Championships.

“Coach Jewell brings a winning pedigree to our 2008 team immediately, with a history of successful player development. Having worked alongside our BOD for many years Coach Jewell has lived our culture and understands our development model. Trevor has developed and built some of the best teams in the country and we are confident he will do the same for CPH. Our family is growing with winning professionals and Trevor checks all those boxes” – CPH BOD

“Having watched CPH come to fruition this season it has brought back my desire to help impact players at the youth level. As the Executive Assistant with the Charlotte Rush my goal is to have more of a local imprint on our roster. Coaching in the CPH program gives me the ability to work alongside two of the best in Troy and Ryan,  to develop more local Charlotte products so they don’t need to leave the area. I look forward to seeing everyone at tryouts.” – HC Trevor Jewell
